After much research and talking with other riders, we are proud to offer the TechNiche line of Evaporative Cooling Vests. They come very highly recommended from motorcyclists who do much of their riding in hot weather.

We are extremely pleased with the quality of workmanship and obvious pride taken in producing such a fine line of products. They fit well and the elastic side-panels make for excellent riding comfort.

Given a two to three minute soaking in water, a rider will stay cooler for hours. TechNiche claims 5-10 hours of cooling for each soaking. Riders in areas of very low humidity and high temperatures may need to soak the vest in 1.5 to 2 hours.

Though the vests will produce the most effective cooling when worn under a mesh jacket, they also work under leather or textile jackets that have vents or zippers open at least partially to allow air-flow. If you prefer to ride without a jacket, we recommend considering the vests with zip-off sleeves as skin covered by the evaporative cooling fabric will be cooler.

The manufacturer is experiencing a dramatic increase in orders over last year. This may cause certain styles or colors to either be unavailable or delays in shipping as they scramble to produce more product.

At this time, there is a 4-5 day delay in shipping cooling vests with sleeves. TechNiche has increased their production hours to try to keep up with the rapid growth.

The TechNiche 6533 Standard Sport Vest with Sleeves Features:

  • Simple V-neck with zipper plus zippered detachable cooling sleeves
  • Quilted nylon outer shell with polymer embedded fabric (PEF) inner
  • Water-repellent nylon liner
  • Black cotton-polyester elastic side panels for added comfort and ease of movement

Available in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL with Custom sizes available by special order.

These are "adult" sizes. This means you should choose the size you wear if purchasing an "Adult" or "Men's" T-Shirt. The elastic side panels help the vests fit a woman's shape too! They run true to size. If you would normally wear an "Adult Medium" for example, choose a Medium in the vest. Our T-Shirt Size Charts at the link below may help your choices. Vests should feel a bit snug when first putting them on. This allows for the best cooling. Elastic side panels allow for comfortable movement. Sleeves tend to be large to allow for safe arm movement and to accomodate a broad variety of arm sizes.

The manufacturer recommends patting the inside of the vest dry after soaking, but we like to put them on wet for added cooling.

We recommend wearing the vest over a 100% cotton tee shirt.
